ANYWAYS. September has finally decided to roll around (and yet I still feel like it should be July?), and now I get to give you guys this very exciting post!
Want to guess what's so special about September?
So why is today's post special? Because the celebration starts today!
First of all - a giveaway!
Second of all - a writing contest!
You read that right xD. I'm hosting a writing contest! The rules are easy -
- the word minimum is 500, and the maximum is 2,000
- you must include the word ink somewhere in your entry
- the deadline for submitting your entry is September 26th
The winning story will also be featured on my blog sometime this October ;).
All you have to do is follow the above rules, and submit your entry through the form below! I'll announce the winner on the 30th. If you have any questions about all of this, leave a comment, and I'll try to answer in a timely fashion :D. (also, while the contest is not for U.S. residents only, the prize is - so you can still enter the contest if you're an international follower of mine, but I just won't be able to send you a prize should you win) And if the contest does well enough, maybe I'll make this a tri-monthly part of Scattered Scribblings. It's a very heavy maybe, but we'll see!
And that's not all that will be going on in September - but I'm afraid that I can't tell you about all of it, because that would be ruining half the fun! But I will tell you that there's going to a post done on Scattered Scribblings almost every other day this month ... and not all of them will be done by me ;). So make sure to be checking back so you don't miss a thing!
OKAY, I'm going to say too much if I stick around any longer. I'll see y'all soon - best of luck with the contest, my friends! September's going to be epic.
~ Savannah Grace
so, did I surprise you with this post?
are you excited to see what other posts I have coming up in september?
are you excited to see what other posts I have coming up in september?
AAAAHHHHHHH!!!! A celebration all MONTH??? With a giveaway and contest and everything? Funnest blogoversary EVERRR. I LOVE THIS.
ReplyDeleteAND THE GIVEAWAY. I've been wanting to read The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland (we're just calling it that, because that title is absurd) for aaaages. Sadly, I doubt I'll get a chance to enter the writing contest. *sniff, sniff* I have sooo much going on this month. But I can't wait to see what all posts you have planned!
*pulls out the cookies and cupcakes and gets ready to party*
YES, ALL MONTH. I'm so wildly excited to get this show on the road! It's gonna be a blast xD.
DeleteWait wait, you haven't read it yet?! CHRISTINE, YOU NEED TO. It's the cutest (and strangest?) little book, I love it. And aw, that's too bad! But I hope you have an epic September, even if you ARE crazy busy ;).
*joins you in the eating of sweets* LET'S DO THIS
YIPPIE!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I get extra hints about what's going on this month because I'm your sister, right? #ExtraSisterPoints
And, WHY WOULDN'T I BE EXCITED. xD
let's rock September!!!!!!! =d
Jaidyn Elise<3
Yup yup - I GUESS you'll get to know early, since you have sister points xD. And YES, LET'S ROCK SEPTEMBER. *fistbump*
DeleteYAAAAAAHHHOOOO!!!!!! *fist bumps you back* lol xD
DeleteJaidyn Elise<3
WOW! I am so impressed! O.O Dude you are going HARD CORE. *high fives* I am REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE WRITING CONTEST! LIKE, THAT IS SOOO COOL! Is there a prompt or anything? Or is it just a flash fiction type article, completely of your choice?
ReplyDeleteDude, you're amazing *high fives* I can't wait to see what happens here next! <3
I can be VERY all-or-nothing sometimes, so I decide to go with ALL xD. The only thing you have to do is include the word 'ink' somewhere in the entry, otherwise you can do absolutely anything you want! So yup, basically just flash fiction, completely of your choice ;).
DeleteTHANK YOU, FREN. I can't wait to show you what's coming!
Yas thank you so much for doing this! My sisters and I will totally do the writing contest but we already have the Ink series (which is epic so get it if you dont have it) so it'll be just for fun. Savannah you are awesome for doing this and I can't wait to see what else you come up with
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! And YES, I own the entire Ink series, and I LOVE it <3. I'm glad it's one of your favorites! And YOU'RE AWESOME, TOO - thanks for commenting, friend!
DeleteEeeeeep, all the excitement!!! This is going to be so much, Sav!
ReplyDeleteOKAY BUT THESE GIVEAWAYS. O_O Alllll the beautiful books! I'm totally entering both giveaways if I can. The writing contest sounds like a blast--just the right amount of guidelines for my creative muse. (My muse doesn't like to be confined much to rules. #rebel xD)
SERIOUSLY I AM SO STOKED FOR THIS. *sets off celebratory glitter bombs* Looking forward to a month-long party!!!
Trust me, they're even MORE GORGEOUS IN REAL LIFE. Even just for the prettiness factor, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland and Inkheart are two of my favorites books <3. (and SAME - I hate it when my inspiration has too many limitations xD. Which is why I left the contest pretty open to whatever anyone wants to do!)
Delete*twirls in the celebratory glitter* Thanks for commenting, Mary! <3
How fun! First of all, congratulations! That's crazy to think that you've been blogging for a whole year. I remember the first time I found your blog like it was yesterday! Time flies... Also, YOU'VE GROWN SO MUCH IN JUST ONE YEAR. You have a lot of followers for just one year, so GO YOU!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for the writing contest. I haven't written anything yet, but I know it'll be super fun. :)
Yeah, I still definitely feel like I'm one of those super-new bloggers, who still wonders WHAT EVER they are doing, even after a year xD. But I'm having so much fun that I don't care! And THANK YOU, EVANGELINE! You're the sweetest <3.
DeleteI hope you do enter! I don't think I've seen any of your writing (maybe? have I read any snippets on your blog? *ponders this*), but you seem like you'd be GREAT at it. Best of luck!
*whispers* also, the piece you submitted for the contest was roughly 300 words under the limit, so I'm afraid I can't let it count. But if you'd like to submit a valid piece, I'll let you do it again, since your first one can't count ;).
DeleteWait....OH NO. I ONLY DID PART OF IT. Oh well, I'll write something new.
DeleteAhhh how fun! I would write up something but I'm afraid it'd be just slightly embarrassing sense I'm not good at writing at all...but it looks fun! :) And great giveaway! ♡♡
ReplyDeleteAw, come on, I'm sure you're a great writer ;). And thanks! I'm excited to see who will win The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland! <3
DeleteAH, this sounds so EXCITING!!!! (And another reason to try some flash fiction - yay!!) Congrats on blogging for a year, Savannah!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how LONG I tried to keep this all a secret xD. (and isn't flash fiction fun? I love writing it!) Thank you so much, Julian!
DeleteWhere do you submit it? Should I email you my submission since you're hosting the contest? That'd be the coolest to enter, but I'm still deciding. lol
ReplyDeleteCan it be whatever genre? Or like Hannah asked, is there a prompt. I know we have to include the word "Ink", but other than that?
God Bless, and thank you for the exciting post! :D
Actually, I have a form right in the post (the one that's titled 'SS Blogoversary Writing Contest') where you can submit your entry! And YES, it would be super cool if you entered ;). And yes, all genres go, so long as the word 'ink' is included at least once!
DeleteYou're so welcome, my friend! <3
Oh, I must have missed it. If I submit it in the form, will you be the only one seeing it?
DeleteAlso, if I happened to win, could I choose to not have my work on the blogpost? My name could be mentioned, but not my actual story? I was feeling paranoid and thinking that people could steal your story right off the post. I know that probably wouldn't happen, but you never know.
I'm sorry if I'm bombarding you with all these questions! Thank you for answering them! <3
So, can I start writing it, and then maybe submit it later on? Before or on Sep. 26? I'm sorry for all the questions! lol
DeleteYes, as far as I know the forms are entirely private, so I'd be the only one seeing it ;). And yes, you can totally chose to forgo having your story featured if you win! And you can absolutely enter it later on - anytime before OR on Sept. 26, just no time afterwards. And you're perfectly fine! I don't mind the questions at all :D.
DeleteThat's good. I don't mind my name being on there \if\ I win, but not my work. lol I want to play it safe. ;)
DeleteYou're very kind, and I really appreciate you answering my multitude of questions. lol
Just one more: If we win or don't win, will we be notified, or will we see who won on your blog post? (I just want to know what will happen so I won't be confused later on. lol)
Haha, that's probably a smart idea :D.
DeleteYou'll see who won on my blog post (on the 30th), BUT I'll also notify the winner by email ;).
Better safe than sorry as they say. lol
DeleteOh, okay. Thanks for answering my many questions! This is going to be fun, whether we win or not. It sparked ideas that I'm so happy I came up with. Thanks for that!
Most certainly surprised--but most pleasantly. :)
ReplyDeleteWill my answers on the giveaways be kept private? I don't think my parents would want me to submit my e-mail if anyone besides you can see it.
And ugh! you're doing a writing contest, because now I have to think about entering, but I don't have any ideas. #writerproblems I'll definitely have to think about this one. . . Awesome ideas here!! Can't wait to read more.
Wonderful! :D And yes, as far as I know the forms are completely private, so only I'll be able to see it ;).
DeleteHaha, quite the problem, huh? :D I'm excited for you to see the rest of the posts!
nonononononononoooo ... SAVANNAH. YOU ARE. SO. EPIC. I MEAN, HOW? THIS IS JUST SO PURE GENIUS. I LOVE IT!!!! And when I first saw this I was basically thinking to this character in a cartoon my sibs were watching where he said, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't". hahaha. Basically me when I saw this. But it is real!!! Right?
ReplyDeleteHeh. But I'm Canadian - sooo ... I'll still try to enter your contest though! And ALMOST EVERYDAY!!! WHAAAT? (I wanna see how superhuman you are at the end of this month when I read your recap hehehehee xD).
I'M SO STICKING AROUND! AND I'M BEYOND EXCITED!
WHOOO! *cheers*

OH MY GOOD GRACIOUS, LISA <3 <3 <3. Seriously, YOU'RE epic, your comment had me grinning so big :D. And YES IT'S REAL - and you have no idea how hard it was for me to keep this a secret, I've been planning this for a month! xD
DeleteAw, that's too bad - SOMEDAY I'll do an international one, but today is not that day xD. And I'm excited to see your submission if you do enter the contest! (and GOOD GRACIOUS, the 'posts' section of the recap is going to be loooong ... xD)
I'M SO SO HAPPY THAT YOU'RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS! Thanks for commenting, Lisa! <3 <3

*American tears, because I wish I could make this open to all of you* ;P
DeleteREALLY? *highfives you* It's so cool that you just read it! And now you NEED to finish the series - seriously, it's all so good. The third book wasn't my favorite, but I LOVE THE REST TO DEATH. <3 <3
Thank you so much, Jem! And I most definitely will xD.
TEACH ME HOW TO BLOG?? Like when I had my one year blogiversary I actually... forgot about it hahaha. It was a week later and I was like "Wait... my blogiversary was last week, wasn't it???" xDD LOOK AT YOU, SO COORDINATED.
ReplyDeleteWELL I THINK YOU'RE KILLING BLOGGING BY YOURSELF, SO xD. But PRO TIP: don't forget your own blogoversary. You can remember it next year xD. (it's in ... February, yes?)

THANK YOU so much, Audrey! *gobbles virtual pizza and fully approves of this spreading of pizza* ;D
DeleteI'm so glad! I'd been trying SO hard not to spill about it all throughout August xD. I'm excited to show y'all the rest of the September posts!
Congratulations on one year! You've done it fabulously. I very much enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm super excited about your writing contest. I've been working hard on my Snow White story lately, and it was so refreshing to sit down and write something different (although, ahem! It seems I have accidentally stayed up 3 hours past my bedtime -- whoops!). I'm calling my entry "Sarcasm and Ink." Whether it wins or not, I hope you enjoy it!
Congratulations, again!
Thank you so much, my friend! I'm so very glad. <3 <3 <3
DeleteOoh, you're entering the Rooglewood contest? That's so neat! It's so cool hearing that other people are doing it, too. And I'm excited to read your contest entry! "Sarcasm and Ink" is such an epic title - definitely intriguing :D.
I'm glad you're in the Rooglewood contest, too!!!!
DeleteAaack, CONGRATULATIONS, SAVANNAH!!!! You've made such a wonderful addition to the blogger world! *raises glass of apple juice* Here's to the years to come! <3 <3

I hope you do too, Hailey! I'd love to read your entry! :D
DeleteHey, I have another question.
ReplyDeleteCan you enter a story you have already written before the contest was even a thing?
You most certainly can! So long as it's still within the word limits, and you sneak the word 'ink' in there somewhere ;).
DeleteOh, okay! I'll see what I can do. ;)
DeleteHappy (late) blogoversary! I will definitely try to enter your writing contest. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Nicole! I'm excited to see your entry <3.
