Cover Reveal: Martin Hospitality

January 21, 2017

SO today is a pretty special day - anyone want to guess why? xD

My good friend Abi Ellison is releasing her first book, Martin Hospitality (and OH BOY am I excited! ) on February 4th - and if what her beta readers have been saying about it is any indication, I think it's going to be AH-MAZING. And today you guys get to see the cover! Ready?

and if you're like me, you skipped the post and went straight to the cover xD

*stares at the loveliness* You guys, I'm so pumped for this book to come out, Abi has put her whole heart into it. And honestly - I've seen people I don't even know raving over it and the book hasn't even come out yet so that obviously means we should all be trampling over each other to get it, come February 4th xD.

What do you think of Abi's cover? Are you excited for Martin Hospitality to release?

  2. Ooh, lovely book! I hadn't heard about it before. . .

I was also quite excited to see your next character building post! Personally, I think I prefer nice (and maybe a bit stereotypical) mentors, or at least like Gandalf. ;-)
Also, all the Cerulean fangirl moments while reading!! <3 ;-)

BTW, what would you say differentiates a mentor character from a leader character?

    1. Isn't it pretty? :)

I'm so glad you liked it, Hanna! Gandalf is one of my top-favorite mentors ... though, I could be biased :D.
Haha, he made writing the post twice as fun xD.

Huh. That's a tough question. I guess a leader 'leads' but cannot 'teach' as well as a mentor character can. A mentor has more experience and info to give the characters - while the leader might not known quite as much.
Say, for instance, Aragorn is a leader in Lord Of The Rings, but Gandalf is a mentor. Gandalf could be a leader just as well as Aragorn, but I would consider Gandalf more of a mentor because of how much he knows, and how much he teaches the characters.
Basically, I would say a leader is the character that everyone puts their trust in to get them through their quest. The mentor, most likely, could lead is he wanted to - but instead chooses to also follow the leader, but be there to lean on when the leader needs help and advice.

OKAY WOW - sorry, totally didn't mean to go into lecture mode xD. Hope that kind of answered your question!

  6. Oh my goodness the cover is GORGEOUS!!! I hope to be able to read the book soon!

I have a quick question about blogging for you if you don't mind. Where do you get the images of the book covers you've read? Do you simply copy them off the internet or Goodreads? I'm currently trying to figure that and where I can get copyright free gifs right now.

    1. I LOVE it - it's going to look beautiful on a bookshelf ;).

I mostly copy the book cover images off the internet (seeing as I don't have Goodreads), but honestly I don't know what the rules on copyright are there - but that's probably something I should figure out.
