Q&A Vlog - Part 2

January 24, 2017

Finally got around to taping part two of the q+a vlog! (and yay me, I'm posting it on time xD)

I think I did a little better with this vlog than I did with the other one - seeing as it's only a six minute video instead of seventeen (*dies*). Even if the noise was a little finicky at times, I consider this vlog to be an upgrade xD. Enjoy!

And here I sit, laughing at myself in the video. Hopefully this vlog was amusing to you guys, too - I had a lot of fun with it (and Ariel did too - she loves cutting in with her two cents xD)! Hopefully I'll be back with another vlog sometime soon ;).

~ Savannah Grace

What movie have you seen that has the best costumes? What was the best book you read in 2016? also, Mary Horton recently (or ... not so recently, because I am late xD) celebrated her first blogoversary - so go check her post out ;)

  1. UGH...*facepalm* I was so awkward... xD
Your part was really great though!! I honestly think you're a better talker when you're video-taped than me...I just ramble, and ramble, and ramble...=D

  2. YES. Your code name definitely should be something about 'Savvy.' :D

This was so much funnn. (possibly a little better because it was shorter :P) I'd LOVE to see a camp NaNo 'diary' sort of thing! Yes yes.

    1. Because Savvy is an epic nickname :D.

Thank you, Prill! (yeah, I wanted to keep this one from being a full-blown vlog marathon like the last one xD)
I might just to do that! A Camp vlog seems like it would be a ton of fun ;).

    1. Yup - it's finally been posted :D. Glad you enjoyed it!

Wasn't it? I can't believe she's been blogging for only a year - it feels like its been longer!

I do, too - and so long as time allows, I'll probably do it ;).

  4. Oh, Elyse and Cerulean are my favorites too!! <3 So much yes. (I thought you'd say Cerulean. ;-) ). I like Raven too though--I've heard a lot of people say the main character isn't usually their favorite. I think it might just be something most main characters have to sacrifice.

"This girl is insane." That is actually how I feel about how you read!! I can't read twenty books a month. Just no.
"Everyone loves talking about Killin' Snow!" I love Ariel's comments! :)

Also, Europe and New Zealand, YES!!

I came up with a list of movies I think had the best costumes recently, so (this is not in order):
    The Sound of Music
The Hobbit/L.R. (duh. No, of course I'm not biased. *cough* Seriously though, that costume designer knew what they were doing.)
    Emma
The Princess Bride (seriously, I'm dying over those costumes. So. much. awesome.)

Best book this year? Maybe The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien. . . ? Probably Letters. Because TOLKIEN!!

    1. P.S. Speaking of worldbuilding, I've heard you say that before. Funny it should come up again just now, I was just wanting to e-mail you about it. Worldbuilding CAN be tricky and it can be done very poorly, which always bogs down the story. I think you're worldbuilding is beautiful though. It might not come naturally, but you can master it.
I've got a good imagination (I'm not trying to brag here--I've just always been an imaginative person) and a visual thinker. So picturing a story world in my head isn't hard for me. But there's a point at which I REALLY feel like I connect with a world--a point where, instead of seeing it in my mind, I can imagine myself IN it. Like it becomes 3D in my head. It feels physical.
There are only three story worlds I recall feeling like this: my own world of Cat's Forest, Middle Earth, and Azure. Not. kidding. I decided I should tell you that.
And man! this got long! I'm stopping now. ;)

    2. You know me so well - I can't help loving Cerulean, even if he IS annoying xD. I think I don't like Raven as much because she doesn't have a 'big' personality like Elyse and Cerulean do *shrugs*. Maybe I'll change her just a little bit in the rewrites.

Haha, somehow I always end up with a ton of books read at the end of the month xD. I think the most I've read was about thirty books in one month? (maybe I should have set my book-reading goal higher than 100 this year xD)

Ooh, I really need to see if our library has 'Letters' - I want to read another Tolkien book! :D

Worldbuilding for me is tricky because I tend to see the world pretty easily in my head - and forget that my readers AREN'T in my head, and I should probably TELL THEM what the world looks like at some point in the story xD. And I can definitely tell that you have a good imagination, because how else would you write your beautiful stories?

OH GRACIOUS - Hanna ... I can't even. Seriously, your words were such an encouragement to me today. Yes, worldbuilding is hard for me - but I'm so glad that you felt that way about my Azure series. I'm planning to go back to that story someday, and I'm really excited :D.

Thank you for your sweet comments, friend! <3

  5. YAY!! ANOTHER VLOG!! You're really great at talking in front of a camera. XD I probably would have just curled up in front of the camera and hissed until the battery ran out.

You didn't like Six of Crows? Aw, that's too bad. Oh well, each to their own, right? :D
ARTEMIS FOWL FOR LIFE. It's so good...

    1. Thanks, Evangeline! :D (but it would be AMUSING to watch you hiss at the camera until the battery died *would totally watch it* xD)

'each to their own' is definitely how it goes in the book world - and YES ARTEMIS FOWL. Some bits of the series I didn't like so much, but most of it I LOVE. My sister and I read it together and had a ton of fun :D.

Agh, this was so fun to watch!! I love Ariel's little comments. ;) And may I just say... WOW. How did you manage to read so much in such a short amount of time? I'm jealous. XD

I would totally love to see a vlog during Camp NaNo! That'd be awesome! <3

  10. This was so much fun to watch!! I LOVE VLOGS. And your bookshelf is super pretty! <3 Also I totally agree about the writing process -- plotting is definitely my favorite part! I love intricate plots and weaving everyone's story together to create this crazy web of goodness. *malicious laughter* This vlog was great! And Ariel is hilarious! :')

    1. THANK YOU, Abbie! (and I may or may not have rearranged my bookshelf so it looked nicer for the video *cough* xD) And YES plotting - though for some reason it's much easier to THINK of the plot than it is to actually write it down. Things have to be logical once they're written down, and I'm not good at logical xD.
      Glad you enjoyed this!

  11. I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE DOING VLOGS BECAUSE I ADORE YOUR VLOGS. Except in this one I kept getting distracted by the books behind you. *grins* But you and Ariel are the most fun things! You guys are so precious.

I hear you on the worldbuilding thing! It's my weakness, and I sooo envy those magical people who just produce enormous, epic worlds. My brain refuses to do it! >.> But plotting and making characters are the bessssst!

That's a shame you didn't like Six of Crows. I, too, have only heard good things, though I haven't read it myself. Was there inappropriate content in it? Because I thought I heard there was, but I can't keep up with these things. Lol.

Your nickname is Savvy? THAT IS THE BEST. I love it!

You definitely should do a CampNaNo vlog. That would be so fun! :D

    1. AWK, THANK YOU, CHRISTINE! <3 Yeah, I was getting distracted by the books myself when watching the vlog! Maybe next time I'll pull Ariel out from behind the camera to say 'hi' xD.

BUT YOUR WORLDS ARE GOLD. Like, Burning Thorns has INCREDIBLE world building, honestly. I LOVE IT SOME MUCH *hugs BT*. But YES to plot and characters - they are just epic :D.

It did seems to be on the sketchy side, but honestly I just couldn't get attached to the characters. And my biggest book peeve is characters I'm not attached to, so Six Of Crows was only a two star book for me.

One out of three, yup xD. It's so fun!

  14. This was so funny!!! Ariel's comments were so great.
Well, I think that Effie in The Hunger Games had hilarious costumes. It has the best costumes!
The best book I've read in 2016 is.....*deep in thought*.....I've read SO much books (59 books over the summer), and It's hard to think of the one I like best. I would have to say...Petey by Ben Mikaelsen. It is such a touching book and it makes you think ore about life for people who have disabilities. It's great. Another one of my favs is The Dream House Kings Series by Robert Liparulo.
    You guys did great.

I haven't seen any of the Hunger Games movies yet, but they look like they would have some AWESOME costumes *nodnod*.

Ooh, I'll definitely have to check out both Petey and The Dream House Kings series - just the titles alone are enough to make we want to pick them xD.
